Sewing level

Charlie is aimed at intermediate sewers; the different technical points require prior experience sewing garments. However, not all variations have the same level of difficulty; some are easier (like the sleeveless and "Tunisian" collar version) while others will challenge you on certain techniques (like the long-sleeved, ruffled collar version).

By sewing Charlie, you will be able to:

  • Sew darts,
  • Use the "burrito" method for a beautiful interior finish,
  • Attach a button placket (simplified method),
  • Make an invisible bias binding finish (hem and sleeveless version),
  • Sew and assemble simple short sleeves,
  • Sew and assemble puffed short sleeves with gathers and elastic,
  • Sew and assemble roll-up long sleeves with buttoned cuffs and tab,
  • Sew a simple collar with facing,
  • Sew a shirt collar,
  • Sew a ruffled collar,
